Mom’s Lasagna

This is a combination of my mom’s lasagna and Logan’s mom’s lasagna to make the most epic lasagna ever! It is the definition of comfort food at it’s finest!

There are few dishes that evoke a sense of comfort and warmth quite like homemade lasagna. I took the best parts of our mother’s recipes to make one that I hope my kids use for years to come. The aroma that fills the kitchen to the glorious layers of cheese, sauce, and pasta, this dish is a true labor of love.

I am so excited to finally have a home for this recipe that has been crafted with care and tradition! I love food that evokes such a sense of warmth, family, and tradition. Don’t you? What other foods provide such feelings of home?

Few tips for mom’s lasagna

There are three basic parts: meat, cheese, and more cheese! Use oven ready noodles for the lasagna for easy and perfect noodle bite. The spices are where it is at to make the best sauce mixed in with the meat. When the meat and cheese are ready, make sure the layers have all equal amounts for the perfect bite! When it’s time for the oven, place a sheet pan below your lasagna in case of any drippings falling over.

Feel free to add your own personal touch to this recipe. Whether it’s extra herbs, different cheeses, or even some veggies, make it your own and create memories that will last a lifetime.

So, grab a fork, savor each layer, and enjoy this comforting classic that has been a cornerstone of family gatherings in my home for years. Buon appetito!

While this lasagna recipe has a lot of heart and meaning to it, it’s also easy and great to make and freeze for those crazy hectic weeks. We have a lot of great easy and healthy recipes here.

  • Cottage cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Meat sauce

  • Cottage cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Oven ready lasagna noodles

  • You really can't mess this up – just make sure you end with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on the top. Feel free to sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on the very top if you want. (sometimes I do this.) Be sparing with the layers, so you can make all of them!
  • Bake for 40 minutes
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 20 minutes before cutting into it to eat!
